Amanda has served a number of roles in the energy industry over more than two decades, including as an energy regulatory practitioner and an investor-owned utility executive focusing primarily on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulation and participation in Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs). Amanda joins Rock Creek Energy Group after a 13-year career with American Electric Power Company (AEP), where she began as a senior counsel in the legal department. She later served as a business unit vice president in charge of FERC and RTO strategy and then Chief of Staff to the Chief Executive Officer before returning to the AEP legal department.

Concurrent with her business roles at AEP, Amanda served as treasurer, vice president, and then president of WIRES, a non-profit trade association promoting investment in the North American electric transmission system. Prior to joining AEP, Amanda spent over ten years in private practice, where she represented a variety of industry participants in matters before FERC, including renewable developers as well as public utilities and RTOs.

Based on her years of practice as outside counsel and with legal and business roles in house with a regulated electric utility, Amanda offers a comprehensive perspective on energy policy and regulation. Her experience covers a wide range of issues related to federal regulation of the electric industry, including cost-of-service and market-based rates, open access transmission rules and policies, rules governing the operation of organized electricity markets, transmission planning, generator and transmission interconnections, Federal Power Act section 203 applications, rules governing affiliate relationships and transactions, electric reliability matters, qualifying facility certifications, formula rates, and cost-of-service rate making issues.

Outside of work, Amanda volunteers as an attorney advisor/coach for a high school mock trial team and is a performing arts enthusiast, currently serving on the Board of Trustees of BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio.
